Sports

The Daniel Academy partners with Grandview Christian School, Christ Prep Academy and KC East Lions for our high school for our high school and junior high sports. We offer multiple team sports and have a LOT of good competition and fun! Our elementary students play on teams together formed through the YMCA. We have the following sports teams available to our students:

Basketball
Track
Baseball
Early Morning Workouts

Innovation and Entrepreneurialism

We know that our students today are going to be the world-changers of tomorrow. We believe many of our students will have unique inventions or business ideas to launch. We are intentionally creating an environment of innovation, exploration and idea-generation in our classrooms.
We have an Innovation Business Fair in the spring, where our students create, market and sell either their product or service. Parents and friends come and purchase the amazing things the students have created. (This year’s top winner went to a first grader for an invention that was actually shown later on the television program Shark Tank!)

We also have an entrepreneurial high school class where students can hear from a variety of local innovators and business leaders. They learn how to take an idea and form a business, including writing a business plan, researching marketing, analyzing costs, etc.

Our goal is to place our students in wonderful local companies in summer internships to get real-life experience. South Kansas City is currently exploding with new businesses moving to the area and there is a great demand for local students to stay and build long-term with these companies.
One idea from one student can radically change the world we live in. Why not let it come from a young one who loves the Lord and desires to bring impact in their world?

Musical Theater

Our musical theater program is second to none and something our entire school enjoys and rallies around. From singing and dancing and acting to set design and building, our students continue to produce truly impacting performances. We have performed great dramas and musicals such as Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Pride and Prejudice, Annie, and Brigadoon. Join us for a wonderful team-building experience!

Assemblies and the 7 Mountains

One of our school’s greatest priorities is to bring many high-caliber people in various realms of influence to interact with our students. This has also become one of our greatest joys. Through this exposure to a variety of people, stories and industries, we want to give glimpses to our students of the many options available to them as they pursue God in their callings. We’ve had doctors, professional sports players, entrepreneurs, actors, missionaries and many more come and speak to our students.

We’ve had the honor of having Rick Santorum address our families and students about the importance of family and of education. We have hosted a city-wide high school Call2All conference and where Loren Cunningham, with Youth With A Mission, and Steve Douglas, with Campus Crusade, came and imparted their love for Jesus and reaching the lost.
We’ve had inventors share about the unique devices they invented for missionaries. We’ve had entrepreneurs who have started local and international businesses tell their journeys with their successes and failures.
We’ve had missionaries from Zimbabwe, India, China, Mozambique and other countries. We’ve had Brother Yun, Peter Xu and Father Anton visit us. We’ve hosted the leaders of Heidi Baker’s orphanage school and met with underground teachers in China who are planting schools.

Our students have had the opportunity to pray for the famous and the humble, counting it all joy to encourage visiting friends. And we’ve been able to give ideas for ways our students can and will impact the world.
